I grew up in a little town in VA, moved in NYC in 1998. I attended the New School Jazz and Contemporary Music Program. Graduated in 2002 and also had a scholarship to the Jazz Aspen Snowmass summer program that same year. I'm a jazz guitarist/composer and I live and teach in NYC.
I've had the good fortune to be around some legendary musicians and have done my best to assimilate the lessons of these masters into my own life and playing. My new recordings, from "Theme Song", are reflection of that work. I've played at many of the clubs in NYC with my peers. With the Josh Maxey Group and with Plan A and as a sideman, I've played at 55 Bar, Cornelia Street Cafe, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Kavehaz, and Fat Cat. While I was earning my degree from the New School, I served as a production manager for New Tide Music, Inc, and have been involved with numerous projects including recordings and concerts for Bluenote Records, Carly Simon, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Rob Thomas, and Rodney Jones, as well as perform in NYC area clubs with my own bands.
I keep a full teaching schedule and am always happy to work with new students. I also work part time at one of the biggest guitar schools in NYC.
